Basic Information on Cold Water Chiller Safety Descaling Agent
LOUDA Chiller Safety Descaling Agent:
[Scope of Application]
During operation, the chiller’s circulating water system undergoes continuous evaporation and concentration, leading to an increase in salt content. When the salt concentration exceeds the saturation point, salts precipitate and form scale, thereby reducing the unit’s operational efficiency. This product is a specialized cleaning agent for chiller circulating water systems, designed to remove scale, dirt, gel-like deposits, and microbial slime that accumulate during heat exchange. The chiller‑safe cleaning agent is specifically formulated to address the types and characteristics of scaling in circulating water systems; it rapidly eliminates scale, dust, gel‑like substances, and microbial slime, delivering fast cleaning while remaining safe and non‑corrosive to all materials within the system.
[Performance Features]
It rapidly dissolves scale, dust, gel-like deposits, and microbial slime, without causing flaking debris that could clog pipelines. It provides efficient, reliable protection for equipment metals and is safe for steel, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized surfaces, and rubber. After cleaning, it quickly restores system performance, significantly boosts cooling efficiency, and substantially reduces energy consumption and operating costs. This product is non‑toxic and harmless; cleaning is safe and convenient, with no adverse impact on the environment or operator health.
[Acidic Cleaning]
This product is a newly developed formulation specifically designed for cleaning in various water systems. It is suitable for removing scale, dust, gel-like substances, microbial slime, and other types of fouling, as well as for eliminating water rust, while remaining safe and non-corrosive to all constituent materials.
Method for calculating the dosage:
When this cleaning agent is used for cleaning the circulating water system of a chiller, the dosage can be calculated based on the heat exchanger area of the condenser and the thickness of the scale, using the following formula:
In the formula g = 1.97 × f × h × a, g represents the dosage (in tons), and f represents the heated surface area of the heat exchanger (in square meters).
h = scale thickness (mm) a = density of calcium carbonate, 2.7 t/m³
Add the chemical agent to a dosing tank containing water at 40–60°C, at a dosage of 3–4% by weight of the aqueous solution, dissolve it thoroughly, and then perform a circulating wash.
Dosage: Based on the system’s water volume, use 30–50 kg per 1,000 kg of water, corresponding to 3–5%.
[Instructions for Use]
Chiller cooling circulation system: Fill the system with clean water, start the cooling water circulation pump, and bring the water system into operation. Add the cleaning agent to the dosing tank at 30–60°C, stir until dissolved, and inject it into the circulation system. After normal circulating cleaning for 4–6 hours, replace the cleaning solution and apply a passivation agent for corrosion protection. Shut down the system, drain all waste liquid, and rinse with clean water 2–3 times. If shutdown and draining are not feasible during normal operation, flush out the system’s waste liquid by simultaneously introducing clean water and discharging wastewater. For standalone cleaning, dissolve the chemical agent, connect the condenser to the circulation pump to form a closed loop (low inlet, high outlet), and circulate the solution through the condenser for 6–8 hours. Follow with 2–3 rinses using clean water.
